Round Table: Security Rights over Real Property in Europe
CLC is a founding member of the Round Table on Security Rights over Real Property at the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp) which aims to contribute to transparency of the law of security rights over real property in Europe, inter alia, by means of country-specific publications.For this purpose not only country-specific publications are being prepared, but also cross-border information is being provided, which enables a comparison and assessment of the legal situation in specific countries.
Declared experts in security rights over real property from as many as 37 countries meet twice a year for workshops and have developed diagrams which provide quick access to diverse information and legal facts on registration, usability and exploitation of security rights over real property.

vdp Legal Monitoring
The limited liability company vdpExpertise GmbH, a subsidiary of the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp), in cooperation with CLC prepares country reports twice a year for continuous observation of the legal development of land charges in national jurisdictions.This legal monitoring, which is based on the results of the Round Table on Security Rights over Real Property gathered so far, aims to provide monitoring of the legal development of security rights over real property that meets the requirements of Regulation No. 575/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council (CRR).
Currently 35 countries, including most of the EU Member States, are included in this legal monitoring. A special focus is put on the reports on Belgium, Germany, Finland, France, England and Wales, Scotland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary and New York, which are of particular importance to the business segments of the member banks of the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp).
The country reports are prepared in cooperation with declared property law experts in the relevant jurisdiction on the basis of the results of the Round Table on Security Rights over Real Property which is held twice a year, regarding the statutory framework conditions and supreme court decisions on security rights over real property in selected countries.

vdp Country Seminars on Real Property Financing
Country seminars of the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp), which are mostly held in Berlin for one day, provide compact and well-founded information on the current market situation in foreign target markets that are of interest for German mortgage banks and property investors.The country seminars provide an overview of innovations in property financing and real property law in the respective countries. The lectures are held by experts from vdp member banks as well as by external specialists with many years of practical experience in the relevant target market.
